Hormigueros picked up a win at Coliseo Eugenio Carvajal, bumping off the Ceiba Picudos, 3-1. Pitcher Orlando Vaca was a major reason the Romeros emerged victorious. Hormigueros bumps their record to 52-50 with the win.

The Picudos had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Romeros going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 29-year old first baseman Eduardo Alanis came to the plate. Alanis hit a 2-run double on a first pitch fastball from Ceiba hurler Esdras Turcios. It was Alanis's 9th double of the year.

"You never take a win for granted in this league," said Vaca.
