Artilleros Rebuff Cuervos, 3-1

The Maunabo Artilleros and Patillas Cuervos played a tight game with the hosts claiming a hard-fought win.
Starting pitcher Harland Wadden gave the Maunabo Artilleros a rock-solid performance, helping his team defeat the Patillas Cuervos, 3-1, at Recinto Atlético del Sureste. The Artilleros saw their record improve to 55-45.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Artilleros had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fifth, when shortstop Emanuel Salazar hit a 2-run single. The single came off Edan O'Sullivan and made the score 2-0, Artilleros. Salazar went 1 for 4. He drove in 2 runs.
"This was a tough loss," said Patillas manager Jonás López. "It'll stick in my craw for a while."
