Amigos Defeat Cornupetas, 6-4
|
At Estadio Gilberto Martínez, the Cayey Cornupetas and Guanica Amigos were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
The Guanica Amigos beat the Cayey Cornupetas, 6-4. Guanica pitcher and San Juan, Puerto Rico, native Oscar González led the way. Guanica reliever Oscar González got the win, raising his record to 1-2. Ildefonso Espinoza was tagged with the loss.
Guanica went up, 5-2, on Connor Garner's 3rd triple of the season. The 2-run triple, which Garner hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Cayey pitcher Américo Prats shaking his head.
"We'll put this win in the can," said Garner, "and then go after the next one."
With the win, Guanica upped its record to 56-52.
