Vega Leads Vejigantes to 5-1 Win over Mercaderes
|
Loiza and Villalba took Mother Nature's best shot and still managed to complete their ballgame.
The Loiza Vejigantes beat the Villalba Mercaderes, 5-1. Loiza starter Narciso Vega pitched a gem. The Vejigantes are now 56-54, while the Mercaderes fall to 43-65.
Vega pitched a complete game for Loiza. The 25-year-old left-hander was charged with 1 run on 5 hits. He struck out 4 during his 110-pitch performance.
"You want to go out there and put up zeroes, that's the main thing," said Vega. "You don't want to get caught in one of those back-and-forth, run-for-run games."
