Villalba Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win
The Villalba Mercaderes electrified the crowd with a walk-off win.

Villalba Mercaderes starter Ladislao Pérez pitched a strong game against the Yabucoa Dulceros at Estadio Hernán Ríos, leading the Mercaderes to victory, 4-3. Romualdo Rivera came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. His record now stands at 1-0.

Wahid bin Ubadah was the walk-off hero for Villalba. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Mercaderes center fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"Obviously, we're happy we came out on the winning side, but what a great game to watch, just as a fan of baseball," said Mercaderes manager John Dolan.

The third-place Mercaderes now have a record of 52-56.
