El Recóndito played host to some real drama.

Hortensio Galicia pitched well, but his team, the Mayaguez Capitanes, still dropped a 3-2 decision to the Culebra Tortugas in 16 innings. Culebra now owns a record of 44-62.

Up to bat in the bottom of the 16th, 38-year old catcher Manuel Fuentes had a chance to be the hero. Mayaguez pitcher Hortensio Galicia had other ideas. But with one out, Fuentes hit a run-scoring single. The Tortugas had themselves a dramatic win.

In postgame remarks, Fuentes said: "I'm proud of our guys, of their fight."
