The Mayaguez Capitanes clipped the Vieques Esqueletos, 4-3, in 10 innings at Coliseo Atlético del Oeste. The standout performance belonged to Mayaguez pitcher and Carrickfergus, Ireland, native Ronit Robinson. Mayaguez pitcher Nicolás Centeno got the win. He's now 1-1. José Hernández was tagged with the loss. By defeating Vieques, the first-place Capitanes improved to 61-46.

When he came to bat in the bottom of the tenth, Byron Wood had a chance to end it. Vieques pitcher José Hernández had other ideas. But with one out, Wood hit a run-scoring single. The Capitanes had the win.

"What an ending!" said a jubilant Wood.
