Win Goes to Mercaderes in Tight Contest
In a low-scoring tilt between the Villalba Mercaderes and the Yabucoa Dulceros, three-time All-Star Polideuco Quiros was the difference-maker. The Villalba left-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. At 46-68, the Mercaderes claim third place in the Liga Hostos Metro Sur.

The decisive blow was delivered by Federico García in the bottom of the 12th when he hit a run-scoring double off 27-year old right-handed pitcher Cornelio Bazán to win the game for Villalba. The home crowd went nuts.

"There's a warrior mentality with this team," said Mercaderes manager John Dolan.
