Hatillo got a terrific game from shortstop Pablo Ruiz. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Hormigueros, 8-3. Ruiz went 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs. The winning pitcher was Víctor Hugo Velásquez. His record now stands at 11-13. The right-hander went 8.1 innings, allowing 3 runs on 11 hits for the Romeros. The win makes Hormigueros 59-57.

Second Baseman Gabriel Sertuche made an impact for Hormigueros, when he swatted a 2-run triple off Herminio Vargas in the top of the fourth. For the contest, Sertuche was 1-4 with a triple. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.

"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Sertuche.
