Guiristas Pick Up 5-2 Win
|
Wet weather did not postpone the Penuelas-Ciales ballgame.
The Penuelas Guiristas knocked off the Ciales Galanes, 5-2, in Liga Betances action at Estadio Guerrero. Penuelas pitcher and Humacao, Puerto Rico, native Francisco Burrola had an outstanding performance. Penuelas is now 8-7.
Francisco Mejía, who is tied for 3rd in the LB in stolen bases with 11, drove in one run for Penuelas. In a tie game with one out in the top of the seventh, Mejía came through with a run-scoring ground out. It put the Guiristas in front, 2-1.
"Sometimes it sounds simple, but you have to go out there and pitch and execute," said Penuelas manager Constantino Ríos. "Francisco pitched his heart out."
