The Jayuya Cerros picked up a win at Coliseo Germán Márquez, taking down the Guayama Hechiceros, 7-3. Starting pitcher Gerjan Peelen was a big reason why. The loss makes Guayama 61-58.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Luis Álvarez? The Jayuya right fielder had a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put the Cerros on top, 4-3. For the game, Álvarez had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"When there are games to be won, you win them," said Jayuya manager Matías Vaca.
