The Hormigueros Romeros wiggled past the Maunabo Artilleros, 5-4, at Coliseo Eugenio Carvajal. The win was highlighted by the performance of Hormigueros pitcher Víctor Hugo Velásquez. The win lifts Hormigueros to a record of 7-8.

Up to bat in the bottom of the tenth, 31-year old second baseman Gabriel Sertuche had a chance to be the hero. Maunabo pitcher Avelino Saldívar wanted to foil that plan. But with one out, Sertuche hit a sacrifice fly. The Romeros had themselves a thrilling win.

"This place was rockin'," Sertuche said.
