Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Cabo Rojo Combatientes got the win.
Cabo Rojo Combatientes starter Elián Morales turned in a top-notch performance against the Aguada Arzobispos at Estadio Juan Rodríguez. The result was a win for the Combatientes, 4-2. Luis Sánchez earned the save, his 23rd.
Had Alberto Medina not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Medina hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Combatientes.
Medina said afterward that he was glad to help his team win.
The 'W' lifts Cabo Rojo's record to 56-62.
