Vieques Esqueletos starter Anastasio Cordero turned in a sterling performance against the Trujillo Alto Macabeos, leading his team to a thin, 3-2 win in 10 innings. The Esqueletos improved their record to 52-69 with the win over Trujillo Alto.

A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd and no one out in the bottom of the eighth inning. That's when designated hitter Higinio Meza hit a run-scoring single. The Esqueletos went on to win.

"We put it together and came out with the win," Meza said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
