The Catano Guardacostas were defeated, 1-0, by the Ceiba Picudos at Estadio Getulio Moreno, even though Juan Salazar pitched well for Catano. Santiago Castañeda closed it out for Ceiba, earning his 6th save. The Picudos now own a record of 44-75.
Ceiba used a timely hit from 23-year old third baseman Al Potvin to get the win. The third baseman delivered a run-scoring triple in the top of the ninth inning to put the Picudos on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was huge.
In postgame comments to the Ceiba Bulletin, Potvin said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
