The rain did not keep Morovis and Salinas from finishing their game.
The Morovis Sanisalvos locked up a win at Coliseo Homero Contreras, knocking off the Salinas Pescadores, 4-3. On the mound for Morovis was left-hander Santiago Ávalos. He played a major role in the triumph. Earning his 5th save of the year was Javier Rodríguez.
Fermín Jiménez had a big run-scoring triple for the Sanisalvos in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Morovis leading 3-1 and a runner on 2nd, he got a fastball from Damián Medina, who is tied for 9th in the LB in quality starts with 25, and swatted a triple to right-center. It was his 9th triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Sanisalvos ahead, 4-1.
Jiménez called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
The loss makes Salinas 72-50.
