The inspired effort of Loiza first baseman Martín Padilla was not enough to prevent a loss, 6-5, to the Culebra Tortugas. Padilla was 3 for 5 with 3 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The win has Culebra at 48-72.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. With the game tied in the bottom of the 11th, an error by the Vejigantes allowed the Tortugas to score the winning run.

"This was one of those 'not to be denied' games," said Culebra field general Florentino Almeida.
