Corsos Need Extra Frames to Get Past Canarios
|
The Hatillo Canarios and Yauco Corsos provided some drama for the home crowd.
The Yauco Corsos snuck past the Hatillo Canarios, 3-2, in 10 innings. Yauco pitcher Tito Barrientos, in particular, had a standout performance. The win belonged to Paulino Montes in relief. His record improves to 7-3. Rubén García took the loss for Hatillo.
The Corsos got a clutch hit from first baseman Fionnbár McLoughlin. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single to right, to win the game for the Corsos.
"The crowd flipped out," McLoughlin said.
At 68-58, the Corsos find themselves in first place in the Liga Betances Sur.
