The Culebra Tortugas downed the Fajardo Insolentes, 7-1, at Estadio Rolando Figueroa. Stellar pitching by Juan Santos had a lot to do with it. The right-hander handcuffed his opponent all game. The third-place Tortugas go to 53-74.

Culebra used a clutch at-bat from Clodovindo Armendáriz to capture the win. The first baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Tortugas ahead, 4-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Santos said.
