Corsarios Win, 5-4, Versus Loiza

The Corsarios earned a hard-fought, 5-4 win in 11 innings at Campo de los Corsarios. To do so required withstanding a fine effort from Loiza pitcher Afrodisio Martínez. Martínez went 6.1 innings and allowed 3 runs. Boanerges Murillo got credit for the win, improving to 2-0. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 4.2 innings. The loss drops Loiza to 6-10.
With the game on the line, Scott Rose came to bat in the bottom of the 11th. And the Quebradillas catcher came through, cracking a run-scoring single off Glauco Jaso, the Loiza pitcher.
"We had a chance to win," said Loiza manager Griffin Brown, "but we didn't get it done."
