The Valencianos grabbed a win, 4-2, at Recinto Atlético del Noreste, overcoming a fine effort from Rio Grande pitcher Julio Ochoa. Ochoa went 8 innings and allowed 3 runs. Tim Shea got the win, improving to 2-3. He pitched 5.2 innings, giving up 7 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 3. Avelino Oliva earned the save for Juncos, his 1st.

Juncos used the hitting of Arnulfo Contreras to pick up the win. The third baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Valencianos on top, 3-2. For the game, Contreras had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

Contreras told a Juncos Herald reporter that he was "delighted" with the win.

The loss lowers the Rio Grande record to 8-6.
