Puebla Rallies for 7-6 Victory
|
The Puebla Mosqueteros took on the Merida Trovadores at Parque de los Trovadores.
The Puebla Mosqueteros defeated the Merida Trovadores, 7-6, at Parque de los Trovadores. Puebla was led by 33-year old center fielder Lisandro Trujillo, who was 2 for 4 with a double and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Enrique Caballero, the winner, is now 11-6. He struck out 5 and walked 6 over 7 innings, while allowing 5 runs on 6 hits. Eduardo Venegas finished to wrap up his 8th save.
Trujillo had a game-changing double in the top of the eighth. On a 0-1 curveball from Danny Bowell, he banged a bases-clearing double to right, giving the Mosqueteros a 6-5 lead. It was the 6th double of the year for Trujillo.
"There's a lot of passion in our clubhouse," said Trujillo. "When we put it together we're a great ball club."
Puebla is now 43-54.
