The Puebla Mosqueteros took on the Veracruz Vigias at Parque de los Vigías.
The Puebla Mosqueteros downed the Veracruz Vigias, 4-0, at Parque de los Vigías. Stellar pitching by Adelmo Almeida had a lot to do with it. The left-hander, who finished 3rd in the LS in wins with 24 in 1908, handcuffed his opponent all game. The winner was Almeida. He threw 7.2 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Sebastián Ramírez.
Puebla used the hitting of Lisandro Trujillo to pick up the win. The center fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Mosqueteros on top, 4-0. For the game, Trujillo had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Winning never gets old," said Almeida.
The Mosqueteros improved to 61-71.
