Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Cotorras
Rio Grande took on Arroyo in front of a lively crowd.

The Rio Grande Cotorras picked up a win at Recinto Atlético del Noreste, taking down the Arroyo Telegrafistas, 6-5. Starting pitcher Julio Ochoa was a big reason why. The win belonged to Hansel Portuondo in relief. His record improves to 7-5. Alcides Camacho took the loss for Arroyo.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. With the game tied in the bottom of the 11th, an error by the Telegrafistas allowed the Cotorras to score the winning run.

"I'm never the type of guy that will go in there and flip the table," Arroyo manager Leovigildo Medina said. "At this point, it's up to the players to say 'This is not good enough.'"

Rio Grande occupies first place in the Liga Betances El Yunque at 78-48.
