The Yabucoa Dulceros and Gurabo Tainos played an exciting game.
Gurabo got a decent performance from pitcher Gaspar García, but it wasn't enough to beat the Yabucoa Dulceros. Yabucoa won the Estadio de Yabucoa contest, 4-3. García threw 8.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. Melchor Alvarado earned the save, his 10th.
Santiago Rodríguez dealt the Tainos a blow in the bottom of the fifth. Batting with a runner on 2nd and Yabucoa leading 3-2, Rodríguez, who is tied for 9th in the LH in triples with 16, hit a 0-2 changeup for a run-scoring single.
"Glad to see the fans get into it," said Rodríguez.
Yabucoa is now 64-63, Gurabo 78-48.
