Vieques pitcher Louis Gunn had a large part in his team beating the Caguas Coquis, 4-0. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Gunn, the winner, moves to 9-13. He threw 6.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 1 and giving up 3 walks. Vieques is second in the Liga Hostos Archipiélago with a record of 60-71.
Vieques used the clutch hitting of Sillvestre Castanho to capture the win. The left fielder drilled a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to give the Esqueletos the lead, 2-0. For the game, Castanho had 2 singles and 1 double in 5 at-bats.
