The Nacogdoches Roaches racked up a win at Alpinists Field, bumping off the Beaumont Alpinists, 4-2, in 12 innings. Joseph Scott, who started for Nacogdoches, pitched effectively for his team. Luís Granier earned the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 5 hits in 4 innings. He upped his record to 2-1. At 34-17, the Roaches claim first place in the Eastern Association Galveston Circuit.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Jorge Ortiz? The 21-year old right fielder Ortiz stroked a 2-run single in the top of the 12th inning to put Nacogdoches up, 4-2. For the game, he was 3 for 5, including 1 double and 2 singles.
