Vejigantes Turn Back Mogotes, 4-3

The Loiza Vejigantes handed the Florida Mogotes a 4-3 defeat at Coliseo Tomás Escalante. Left Fielder Colm Turnbull starred for Loiza. He went 1 for 1 with a triple, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Ildefonso Espinoza got credit for the win, improving to 12-12. He allowed 3 runs on 10 hits in 7.2 innings. Loiza, at 73-61, is 15½ games up in the Liga Hostos Metro Este.
Loiza right fielder Alberto García helped the Vejigantes go up, 4-3, in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the game tied, García hit a run-scoring single off Florida pitcher Héctor Gutiérrez.
"We're feeling good in this clubhouse right now after that one," García told the Loiza News.
