The Utuado Arribenos locked up a win at Coliseo Miguel Flores, knocking off the Anasco Matadioses, 4-3. On the mound for Utuado was right-hander Gabriel Morales. He played a major role in the triumph. Miguel García finished the game for Utuado and earned his 19th save. The first-place Arribenos are now 90-47, the Matadioses 51-82.
An inflection point occurred with two out in the bottom of the eighth. That's when Arribenos third baseman Manuel Escobedo hit a curveball from Víctor Manuel Sánchez for a 2-run single. Just like that, Utuado was up, 4-3.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Anasco manager Pablo Tovar said, following the tough loss.
