Coquis Take Nail-Biter Over Leyendas
There was no shortage of dramatics at Campo Atlético de Caguas.

The Caguas Coquis racked up a win at Campo Atlético de Caguas, bumping off the San Lorenzo Leyendas, 2-1, in 10 innings. Fernando Fontánez, who started for Caguas, pitched effectively for his team. Fontánez, now 14-15, was the winner. In 10 innings, he gave up 9 hits, while striking out 2, walking 0, and allowing 1 run.

The Coquis got a clutch hit from designated hitter Rodrigo Román. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single to center, to win the game for the Coquis.

"Main thing is I want the team to win," Fontánez told a reporter after the game. "Just have to go out there, take care of my job, and give my team a chance to win."

The Coquis now own a record of 50-83.
