The Gurabo Tainos picked up a win at Coliseo Municipal de Gurabo, knocking off the Cayey Cornupetas, 6-5. On the mound for Gurabo was right-hander Orestes Méndez. He played a key role in the triumph. Gurabo is now 75-60, while Cayey is 78-60.

The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Gurabo trailing 5-4, Freddie Grayson hit a fastball from Sarpedón Rodríguez to center for a 2-run single. Just like that, the Tainos had a walk-off win.

"Scoring runs is scoring runs," said Gurabo skipper Radamés Burgos. "It's important to have different ways to do it."
