Late Rally by Romeros Locks Up 3-1 Win
|
In a tight tilt between the Hormigueros Romeros and the Aguas Buenas Mulos, Mario Santa Ana was the deciding factor. The Hormigueros right-hander spearheaded the 3-1 win. Santa Ana yielded 1 run over 8.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 2, and struck out 2. His record improves to 12-17. Alfonso Pérez recorded the save for Hormigueros, his 7th of the season.
The result might have been different, had it not been for 20-year old second baseman Jacobo Alegría. Alegría had a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Romeros ahead, 3-1. For the game, Alegría had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
