Cerros Get Past Villalba, 3-2

Conditions were not ideal but Jayuya and Villalba were able to put their game in the books.
Jayuya turned a good performance from starting pitcher Eddie Kirby into a 3-2 triumph over the Villalba Mercaderes at Estadio Hernán Ríos. Kirby picked up the win for Jayuya, going 8.1 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 16-14.
The Cerros benefited from a costly error in the top of the ninth. With Luis Álvarez at bat and Jayuya leading 2-1, the Villalba miscue allowed Jayuya to plate 1 and take the lead, 3-1.
"Chalk one up for the good guys," said Álvarez. "I'm sure our fans enjoyed that win."
The Cerros raised their record to 64-74.
