Not everyone stuck through the 37-minute rain delay, but those who did went home happy.
Las Piedras Menestrales pitcher Andrew Patterson was all business, helping his team muzzle the Sabana Grande Tejedores, 6-1. In 8.2 innings, Patterson surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run.
The Menestrales benefited from a costly error in the bottom of the fourth. With Murad Fakhiri at bat and Las Piedras leading 2-1, the Sabana Grande miscue allowed Las Piedras to plate 2 and take the lead, 4-1.
Las Piedras manager Sebastián de León commended his team for "bagging a nice win."
The Menestrales are now 71-68, while the Tejedores fall to 69-69.
