Juana Diaz Wins 7-1 to Continue Red-Hot Start

Fans were not deterred by the threat of rain. They came to see their hometown Juana Diaz Reyes take on the Corozal Mofongueros.
Corozal had no answer for Juana Diaz Reyes starter Napoleón Pérez, who flummoxed Mofongueros hitters as the Reyes cruised to victory, 7-1. The winning pitcher was Pérez, now 3-1. He tossed 5.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 3. Heliodoro Paniagua was called on to finish, recording his 1st save.
In the bottom of the third, with Juana Diaz leading 2-0, Panagiotes Altamirano hit a curveball from Samuel Medina for a 2-run single, giving the Reyes the lead, 4-0.
"It's a good day to be a fan after a win like that," Altamirano told the Juana Diaz Gazette.
Juana Diaz, now 19-5, is playing great baseball to start the year.
