The Dundee Websters and Inverness Thistles played a tight game with the hosts claiming a hard-fought win.
The Dundee Websters had to overcome a fine effort from Inverness pitcher Patrick Grimley to win, 2-1, at Websters Stadium. Grimley went 7.1 innings and allowed 1 run. Almandeto Cruz claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2.2 innings. His record stands at 6-2.
The defining moment came in the bottom of the ninth for Dundee. That's when Pascual Martín hit a run-scoring double off 26-year old right-handed pitcher Ignacio Vélez to win the game. The home crowd went wild.
"It's always extra special to win at home," said Martín.
The last-place Websters are now 51-61, the Thistles 57-54.
