Benson Goes 5-for-5 Against Aibonito Monday, August 31st , 1914 It was a downpour of hits for John Benson at Estadio Herodes García. The Guayama Hechiceros third baseman tore into Aibonito for 5 hits in 5 at-bats to pace the Hechiceros to a rain-delayed 4-3 victory. Aibonito manager Rafael Gutiérrez bemoaned his pitching, speculating his club got flustered by Benson's big day. "He was beating us and we stopped locating well," he said. "That makes you get behind in the count and you can't do that when a guy is hot like Benson was today. Not to take anything away from him, but bad location was the story of the ballgame."
