Libertadores Helpless Against Castillo, Lose 3-0 Tuesday, October 13th , 1914 The Guaynabo Libertadores struggled at the plate against Cotorras hurler Carmelo Castillo, who shackled them on 4 hits while hurling a complete-game 3-0 shutout. "What can you say? We didn't hit well," said Libertadores skipper Billy Riley in postgame comments. "Hopefully we shake this off and bounce back tomorrow." Castillo finished the game with 7 strikeouts and 1 walk in an excellent mound performance. "He pitched real well," Rio Grande manager Serapión Gutiérrez said. "Carmelo made pitches when he had to.
