García Spectacular in 1-0 Win Wednesday, October 14th , 1914 The Naranjito Brillantes were almost helpless in their 1-0 loss to the Isabela Quesiteros and hurler Rafael García. García kept the Brillantes confused all game, spinning a 1-hit shutout. "Tip your hat to García," Naranjito manager Adán Calles said in a postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night." The 30-year-old left-hander had 2 walks and 14 strikeouts in a strong performance. "It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," García said. "It was just one of those games that things went my way." This year, García has worked 315.1 innings with 355 strikeouts en route to a 30-5 record and 1.28 ERA.
