Yabucoa Takes Serie Preliminar Saturday, October 24th , 1914 Ismael González sparked his Yabucoa Dulceros past the pesky Toa Alta Poetas in a closely-contested Serie Preliminar. Yabucoa topped Toa Alta 3-2 at Estadio Teodosio Martínez to decide the series, 3-1 For his efforts, González was rewarded with the series MVP trophy for his .429 batting average, 5 RBIs and 5 runs scored. "You never want to leave anything on the field," González said. "You never want to miss a play of defense you could have made, or give up an extra base you could have gotten, because in a series this tight you never know what you'll need to win." The Yabucoa Dulceros don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Loiza Vejigantes - Fajardo Insolentes series. Fajardo leads the series 2 games to 1.
