Beltrán Says Goodbye to Baseball Wednesday, October 28th , 1914 Rafael Beltrán may be retiring from professional baseball, but don't expect him to sit still. The Barranquitas Ilustres right fielder today announced that this season will be his last. But at age 37, he still has big plans for the future. "I'm looking forward to traveling and seeing the world outside of Liga Nacional Puertorriquena parks. I also want to start taking up some new hobbies and maybe start up a new business, too," he said. "I'm going to enjoy my retirement." In his 1618-game career Beltrán is batting .242 with 169 doubles, 53 triples, 57 home runs and 545 RBIs. He has stolen 372 bases and scored 571 times. |
