In his debut season the Guayama third baseman hit .306 on his way to the Nobilísimo. Benson collected 110 hits with 2 home runs, 40 RBIs and 49 runs scored. Jesús Barrera of the Loiza Vejigantes finished second in voting, while Archie Purse of the Ponce Senores finished third. |
