Brattleboro's Hernández Gets Tea Thrower Tuesday, September 29th , 1914 This year's winner of the coveted Northern New England Association Tea Thrower is Luis Hernández of the Brattleboro Melodeons. During the 1914 campaign, Hernández excelled with a 22-8 won-lost mark in 33 starts. In 297.2 innings he yielded 244 hits and 70 walks, while striking out 241 and compiling an impressive 2.51 ERA. He received 24 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Cristino Rangel of the Burlington Lightermen finished second in voting, while Atilano Espinosa of the Barre Headstones finished third.
