Komperda Reaches 1000 Thursday, July 22nd , 1915 The box score from yesterday's game will show that Bay City beat the Bad Axe Stoplights, 8-6. It will also show that first baseman Lane Komperda went 1-for-4 for the Sugar Beets. It will not show, however, that Komperda reached the 1000-hit mark for his career. The 27-year-old Komperda reflected on the achievement after the game. He mused: "In one respect, it's a real milestone, I guess. Yet, it's just a base hit like any other base hit."
