Sierra Humbles Gary, 10-0 Monday, August 31st , 1914 Hiram Sierra of the Escanaba Wanderers overwhelmed the Gary Blast Furnaces and walked off the mound with a complete-game shutout. He blanked them, 10-0, on 8 hits with a total of 7 strikeouts and 1 walk. "Hiram was on quite a roll," Escanaba manager Bill Allison said. "He gets great late movement and he doesn't give in to the hitters." To date this year, Sierra shows a 12-17 record, 27 starts, 210.1 innings, 121 strikeouts and a 5.56 ERA.
