Ortega Shuts Out San Lorenzo Tuesday, August 25th , 1914 Faro Ortega of the Guayama Aprendices was masterful, pitching a 6-hit shutout, 2-0, against the San Lorenzo Quemados. By going the distance, he was at the same time able to give his bullpen a rest, a fact appreciated by Guayama manager Samuel Vega. "It's nice to have someone who can do that from time to time," he said. "He had command of every ball and every pitch. Great location, too." Ortega had 5 strikeouts and 5 walks in the outing.
