|
Two elite teams met in a late-season showdown.
The Naguabo Navegadores locked up a win at La Timonera, knocking off the Aguas Buenas Mulos, 4-0. On the mound for Naguabo was left-hander Ciriaco Bartra. He played a major role in the triumph. Bartra yielded no runs over 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 1, and struck out 0. His record improves to 7-4.
Daniel Morphis hit a run-scoring triple off Agüeybaná Mendoza in the bottom of the sixth, which put the Navegadores in front, 1-0. Morphis had 1 walk, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 1 for 3.
Naguabo manager Urayoán Castillo called it "a pretty good win."
The Navegadores, at 106-54, sit in first place in the Liga Betances Noreste.
